FIRST ANNUAL INTERFAITH DINNER

 

Our club's first annual interfaith dinner was held at the Barn on November 2nd, 2006. There were more than 70 guests present and all of us had a wonderful, inspiring night together.

The theme of the dinner was the Necessity of Interfaith Dialogue. We had Prof. Lawrence Geraty, the president of LaSierra University, Mr. Atilla Kahveci, the Interfaith Coordinator of Global Cultural Connections, Rabbi Itzhak Miller from Temple Beth EL, Dr. Terry Mathis, campus minister of UC Riverside and Prof. June O'Connor, the chair of Religious Studies Department at UC Riverside. The speeches of our distinguished speakers once more proved the imperative need to come together and try to understand each other for a better and peaceful world.

We are overwhelmed with the acceptance, participation and feedback of our community here in Riverside. Our motivation grew higher with the warmthof our valuable guests.
