• Announcement
• 4/18/2007 Assignment regrade policy:
• You will have to make an appointment with Kris or the TAs within one week after you get your grade. E.g. You get your score on Monday, the last acceptable appointment request should be submitted Friday night.
• The last regrade date will be Monday in the following week. In other words, you should be adviced that the normal regrade should happen from Monday to Friday in the same week you received your grade. And the last date possible for a regrade is Monday in the next week, with valid appointment before Friday night as stated earlier.
  
• You will only be regraded if the origianl score is in the range of  [1, 3]. A score of 0 or 3 above will not be regraded. You will get a maximum "4" for the regrade.
  
• The work you present in the regrade should be completely working. It should also be accompanied with the comments from the grader.
• You may come during Brian's or either TA's officer hour to do the reshow.

  Lab Proficiency	10	6	10%	One of the lowest score will be dropped by the end of the quarter. Each test will cover the material in the previous lab and the assignment of the previous week. So make sure you understand everything before the lab, or you may come to AEW and the TAs for help.
  Lab Final	20	1	20%	An important comprehensive exam at the last lab.

  
  
• Course Discription
• This is a more advanced class for students who are intending to purse their degrees in engineering and sciences. Before taking this class, students are required to have a basic idea about simple programming skills and data structure knowledge.
• In this class, we are going to emphasize on the training of the students for their skill of programming large, more complexed projects with C++. A brief introduction about Linux will also be included.
• It is encouraged to use the course webpage on moodle, where we hold a forum to discuss assignment problems. To use moodle, please click on the here, and select CS12 from the course list, then either choose to visit as a guest or enroll in the class.
  
• References
• There are a lot of useful references on moodle, where you could simply download and study. Meanwhile, I would also like to write some simple tutorials for your information.
• Please note that the moodle website is of critical importance for this quarter. All your assignment, lab proficiency should be turned in and you will receive feedback of your test from there.
  
• Lab 1 Introduction to Makefile
• You may follow the example to have a general idea of Makefile. Essentially, the example will help you through Makefile that you need for the first few assignments.
