One paper accepted to ACM RecSys 2016 and one paper accepted to TCSVT. (June 2016) One paper on social context for video analysis accepted to PAMI. (Nov. 2015) I am still interested in academic activities such as paper reviewing, on topics such as video analysis, social context for machine vision, and large-scale learning. (archive)
HI! My name is Zhen Qin. I am a Senior Data Scientist at LiveNation Entertainment (Ticketmaster division) at Hollywood, CA, working on machine learning for intelligent business systems. Let me know if you are looking for Java/Data Science positions or plan to visit Hollywood! My Linkedin is here. I received my PhD degree in Computer Science from University of California, Riverside in 2015. I was pleased to do research in Dr.Christian Shelton (who is brilliant)'s group. Prior to coming to UCR, I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Information Engineering at Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT), in June 2010. I was a member of the Pattern Recognition and Intelligence System Laboratory there, working with Dr.Honggang Zhang.
My general research interests lie in machine learning and optimization methods, with applications in areas such as computer vision, social network, data mining and industrial applications. I have been working on various topics such as high-order multi-target tracking, image classification, shape retrieval, social network analysis, automatic industrial inspection systems, and large-scale online learning. I am also interested in any other interesting computer vision problems. I am a reviewer for IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology (CSVT), IET Computer Vision Journal, Computer Vision and Image Understanding (CVIU), and Knowledge and Information Systems (KAIS). I am an external reviewer for ICDM, SDM, CIKM, and KDD.
