HumpATX form factor?

At home, I had a 7-year-old linux-based PC firewall which was on 24/7. I had the PC longer than that (can't remember the exact years) but I loaded it with Slackware Linux and converted it to my full-time firewall about 7 years ago. It was equipped with an ATX form factor motherboard with AMD K6-300 CPU and 128M of PC100 RAM. Just last week, it died with kernel panic. I tried to revive it with different RAM, NICs and BIOS settings, but with no avail. Believe me, I would give it CPR if it could really breath.

My friend, Frank Lin, was kind enough to give me his old Shuttle XPC SK41G. He warned me about the faulty switch of the XPC. It turned out that the XPC suffered a common and infamous power supply problem. I could not power it on at all after a few hours of trying. With no other choices, I started heading out and purchasing various computer parts, ie. a new motherboard, CPU, RAM and power supply, to replace my old PC. While I was trying to take apart the power supply from my old PC, I discovered that the power supply actually had the right pins, ie. 20+4 pins, for the XPC. So, I opened up the case of the XPC and took out its broken power supply (model #: ENP-2320). Then, I duct-taped the power supply from my old PC on top of the XPC (see picture below). It works. Hooray!!!

I e-mailed my friend the picture and thanked him. He called it "HumpATX" form factor PC. I thought it was hilarious!
