HISTORY:
PAST:
Growing up in Montpelier, Vermont, I earned my high school diploma in June, 2000. Already knowing where I wanted my life and career to go, I attended Worcester Polytechnic Institute in September, 2000. However, due to financial difficulties, I was forced to withdraw. True to my personal philosophy of Indomitable Spirit (borrowed from the fifth tenet of Tae Kwon Do), I determined to return to college and complete my education. I took a job at the Ben & Jerry’s factory while saving every penny I could. Ironically, it turned out that because I had worked, between the FAFSA Estimated Family Contribution and the price of a different college (one that cost 1/2 as much as WPI) would actually cost me more to attend than WPI. D’oh...
Disheartened, but not defeated, I continued to work and save money and contemplated joining the US Army. My mother was quite adamant that I should not; rather, I should move out to California and attend the less costly, more financially-supported Universities there. So I did.
Moving to California, I attended first Riverside Community College and later transferred to the University of California Riverside where I graduated Magna Cum Laude in Computer Science with a graduating GPA of 3.815.
Before graduating, I spoke with some peers and professors at UCR and was convinced that graduate school was the right choice for me. While mostly satisfied with my undergraduate education, I felt that my knowledge base was very rounded (which is the intent of most colleges), but I wanted to focus in a specific area. So, I applied for graduate school at UCR and like a loving parent, UCR accepted me and provided a full fellowship.
Having now finished my Masters degree at UCR, I am currently seeking employment as a Software Engineer (or if I forget to update this page for a few months, then I am a Software Engineer at [best company ever!]).
