* Legend on back |
"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,..." Mathew28:18 NKJV
"... Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." Acts 2:38 NKJV
"By means of his one Spirit, we all said goodbye to our partial and piecemeal lives. We each used to independently call our own shots, but then we entered into a large and integrated life in which he has the final say in everything. (This is what we proclaimed in word and action when we were baptized.) Each of us is now a part of his resurrection body, refreshed and sustained at one fountain - his Spirit- where we all come to drink." 1 Corinthians 12:12-13 The Message
"For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all in Christ Jesus." Galatians 3:27 NKJV |
"Hallelujah, free at last" In obedience to Jesus Christ, Malcolm Mummé repents, and is to be baptized in water, on Saturday the 7th of February 2004, during the church service of Community Life Fellowship at six o'clock in the evening.
You are invited to attend along with any other people you choose to invite. |
Legend of symbols:
1. The cross is a symbol used in word in New Testament writings and commonly as a graphic symbol for the crucifixion, wherein Jesus Christ gave his life to free us from sin. See http://www.wcg.org/lit/booklets/risen/risen3.htm and http://www.wcg.org/lit/jesus/cross.htm
2. The Greek letter
Chi (
3. The arrow through the surface of water is an obvious (I hope) symbol for baptism. You are invited to my baptism at 6:00 PM 2004 February 7 at Community Life Fellowship, (-: in case you forgot to read the inside. :-) Directions are on a separate sheet. In Christian baptism, the believer is put under water in a symbolic burial with Jesus Christ. This is a public declaration of belief in Jesus Christ, his deity, his righteous life, his death, his resurrection, and power to absolve sins. This is a declaration of repentance from sinful ways and of faith that Jesus forgives all our sins. The believer considers it better to die with Jesus than to live as a slave to sin. As Jesus rose from the grave, the believer returns from the water to celebrate a new life in Christ, free from slavery to sin.
